PBS INDIA AT HIMTECH 2024 At LEH HIMTECH SYMPOSIUM

10/03/2024

PBS India successfully participated in HIMTECH 2024, organized by FICCI and Indian Army at Rinchin Auditorium- Leh, Ladakh.

We pitched two key applications: a jet-based kinetic kill solution for precision strikes and a heavy weight-lift application designed for high-altitude operations. Both solutions leverage the significant performance advantages of turbojet engines over electrical alternatives, particularly in low-oxygen environments where power output and reliability are crucial.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with senior leadership of the Indian Army and drone manufacturers. Given the high-altitude conditions, our team underwent a two-day acclimatization process, as even walking short distances was exhausting due to the lack of oxygen. Despite the challenges, the experience was highly rewarding and insightful for PBS India.

High-altitude logistics drones powered by turbojet engines offer a significant advantage over their electrically propelled counterparts, particularly in low-oxygen environments above 3,500 meters.

Turbojet engines provide consistent thrust in thin air, where electric propulsion systems struggle with reduced efficiency and limited battery life. This allows the drones to carry heavier payloads over longer distances, making them ideal for high-altitude missions where reliability and range are crucial. Additionally, turbojets perform better in extreme cold, where batteries tend to lose capacity. The superior power-to-weight ratio of turbojet engines ensures these drones can handle demanding terrains and harsh conditions, providing a more robust solution for high-altitude logistics compared to electric propulsion.
  • Engagement: We had fruitful interactions with industry leaders, government officials, and potential clients, highlighting the innovative features of the TJ40 engine and its applications in various sectors.
  • Feedback & Insights: Participants were impressed with the engine’s capabilities, specifically its adaptability to high-altitude operations, which is crucial for our clients in defence and aerospace sectors.

The positive response we received at HIMTECH 2024 reinforces our commitment to developing advanced technologies that meet the needs of our customers.
